What to expect at WWDC22

Some people don't get too excited about the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference -- the event's name does sound kind of dry, TBH.

But if you're an Apple fan, you really should get stoked for the annual event. This year's version kicks off Monday with a keynote, during which Apple execs will lay out the company's grand plans for the future.

We usually don't see new hardware at WWDC, which inevitably leaves some gear hounds disappointed. However, we definitely do get an advance look -- straight from the horse's mouth -- at how all our Apple gear will be transformed by software in the very near future.

Our top post this week is an updated version of what we expect to see from WWDC22. And if you're as excited about Apple's future as we are, don't miss our post on how to watch the WWDC22 keynote live.

It's gonna be a long weekend ...

How-tos

Death, taxes and running out of storage on your Mac; few things in life are as certain. But now is the time to do something about it. Apple is about to unveil the next version of macOS at its Worldwide Developers Conference next week, and if you want to install the public beta, you’ll need at least 3GB of free space to install it.

Dedicated to keeping your old phone working until the iPhone 14 models arrive? Need to free up space on a spare device to install the anticipated developer beta? Whatever the case, here's how to clear storage on your iPhone and iPad.

A good way to separate your data is to partition your Mac hard drive. A partition splits your storage into two spaces, like putting a trunk divider in your car. The most common use case is to install a second operating system on the same computer. Here's how to do it.

Until recently, people carried around separate chargers for every device. (Some folks still do.) But if you’re on the go, wouldn’t it be better to bring one small power source and a few cables? With compact and potent gallium nitride chargers, you can — if yours has the requisite power and ports

Setups

When we find a great computer setup featuring an exciting new 16-inch M1 Max MacBook Pro splitting time with an Xbox on a 40-inch, curved ultra-wide display, we’ve just got to talk about it.

These days, more people than ever use multiple computers. The owner of this setup does. And they switch between the two machines, which use the same external display, with the simple press of a button.

This setup belongs to a UI designer who ditched a gaming PC and got himself a Mac Studio and Studio Display to go with his work-provided MacBook Pro. And that was just the start.
