Everything new in iOS 18.2
The upcoming iPhone update brings big changes -- and you can get it now.
Apple should release the final version of iOS 18.2 sometime next week. It’s a big update with lots of changes, including some flashier aspects of Apple Intelligence, including AI image-creation tools Image Playground and Genmoji.
Cult of Mac’s D. Griffin Jones has been using the beta for a while now, and he put together a piece outlining all the cool new stuff in iOS 18.2. (There’s a video version, too.)
Read or watch to see all the new features coming soon to your iPhone.

If you want to try iOS 18.2 a wee bit early, here’s how to get the release candidate right now. It’s easy — and playing around with Image Playground and Genmoji all weekend after you upgrade sounds like a solid plan.
Two interesting Apple-oriented projects surfaced this week. One resurrects the MacBook Pro’s discontinued Touch Bar as a stand-alone USB-C dongle. It’s called the Flexbar and it looks pretty cool! The other brings to life a wild Apple concept from the ‘80s called the FlatMac.
Checking out my Apple Music Replay always proves interesting. The feature serves up data about the songs and artists you listened to the most over the past year. If you haven’t seen your 2024 stats yet, here’s where to look.
If your partner snores when they sleep, these noise-busting earbuds could restore your sanity. They’ve got one key advantage over AirPods — they’re super-comfortable, even for side sleepers.
And finally, for your post-Cyber Monday shopping enjoyment, Cult of Mac Deals rolled out price drops this week on a ton of cool stuff, including an aftermarket CarPlay display, a super-tiny smartphone, a Kodak slide/film scanner and the Babbel language-learning app. (The bestseller so far is a lifetime subscription to all-in-one AI tool 1minAI.)
Enjoy your weekend!
